Guy Cumbie was born in Fort Worth and has resided in Tarrant county for most of his life. He received his B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1977, is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner, maintains the CIMC and CIMA Investment Management Consulting credentials, and is the founding director and past president and chairman of the 29,000 member Financial Planning Association. Guy is qualified for court appointment as a  mediator in Tarrant County. He is a long time non-attorney member of the Tarrant County Bar Association's Business and Estate Planning Section and serves on the steering committee of TCU's Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards program. Guy was recently named by the Community Foundation as its' Professional of the Year for 2006. The award is presented to the attorney, accountant or financial planner who has used philanthropy as a part of their clients' estate and tax planning. In his free time Guy and wife Kamee and daughter Cate enjoy working and playing with their Paint horses and skiing in the Rockies.
