David Burgess was born in Gainesville, Texas but spent the majority of his childhood years living overseas in Australia, North Africa and Singapore. He attended Texas Christian University and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1980. After graduation, David worked several years for Sedco Driling Company, commuting to and from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. He began his career in the investment brokerage industry in 1984 with Dean Witter Reynolds and went on to work for several major Wall Street firms before becoming an independent registered investment representative.
David utilizes a value based investment approach taught by Benjamin Graham and later enriched by such famous investors as Warren Buffett and William Ruane.
